Day 212: it kinda feels like the first day of school

Today was a lot of fun. It was Jr High lake day and we spent the entire day out on the boats. We had some pretty good wipe outs, but these are the only ones that I actually got pictures of:

Jr. High lake day is the first youth event that the rising 6th graders get to participate in, so it's lots of fun to get to know the new kids by throwing them off of inflatable tubes at high speeds...

I also have a friend coming to visit and he gets here today, yay!

Day 211: Baby

I played with the girls today, and one of the words that Blake can say really well is "baby"

In fact she practically screams it, but she loves playing with her babies.

Day 210: more work

this time when I got home Blake was playing dress up again...

Day 209: show me your new balances

I had to get some new shoes to work in cause if I have to be on my feet all day then I need good shoes. Well I spent hours trying on lots of nursing shoes and highly disliked all of them...so I decided to go try running shoes. I walked into Run Fit, the guy made me stand on this thing that tells where your pressure points are then he brought out 3 pairs of shoes for me to try on and in less than 20 minutes I was in and out of the store and I am now the owner of the most comfortable shoes I've ever tried on.

I wish I could find more stores like this....

Day 208: May I help you?

worked again today. came home and I was greeted by this...

Blake was wearing nothing but her shirt, her UGA apron, and some boots...and she was talking on the phone. She makes me smile.

Today is the 1st time that I have ever, in my life, locked my keys in my car....there it is sitting all old and impenetrable

this car is almost 20 years old and it is absolutely impossible to get into. It may slowly be falling apart but as long as I keep it locked no one would ever be able to break in without breaking a window.

ummm...this is a bag I got when I graduated...sometimes I use it to carry all my stuff in to work

I was working at the church helping out with paperwork and the occasional sick kid when I came across my friend's application for ROL...

Please list any specific work skills that you may be able to use at ROL: "jazz flute skills, whiffle ball skills, knows every type of marelart (I don't know what that word is?), I can make 20 min rice in 10 mins, I can count to 10 blindfolded"

We always celebrate Madison's birthday during ROL, so this is her with her new computer case that we got her. Isn't she so pretty!

Day 194: Larry and Jonathan

2 of my newly adopted brothers...they are taller than me so I like standing next to them.

Day 193: 1/2 of a twin

my brother, timothy, and our friend Stephanie are both twins. They are also the louder/more talkative of their twins. And per tradition we always take a twin picture when they are all together, but daniel wasn't with us so I just got 1/2 of the twin group.

Day 192: Happy Wedding Day

JD got MARRIED!

she was a beautiful bride and I am so happy that I got to be a part of her special day!

Also the doors to the chapel were pretty spectacular, I was impressed by the craftmanship

Day 190: Mtn Dew Addicts Anonymous

In nursing school we had to go to an AA meeting as part of our homework for one of our classes and it was a really cool experience. Today I realized that I need to join a support group for my addiction. So in lieu of waiting to finding others with my same sad dependence, I'm just going to tell my story

I went to Kroger and bought a drink but quickly discovered that the cap would not come off. After several attempts to get it off myself I asked some of my friends for help...when they couldn't get it off I implored complete strangers. Finally, in desperation, I flirted with this random guy until he used his pocket knife to cut off the top of the bottle...

...I need help.

Day 189: Puppets

Jennifer and I were working on River of Life skit stuff today and we happened to find some Toy Story puppets in one of the children's classrooms at our church, we were pretty excited

Day 188: Beer and Pizza....I'm a real American

I had a busy day at work. So when I got off, I met some friends for dinner

I think they were bowling with the empty bottles or something...

Day 187: The Battle Continues

Today was my first day on the floor and everything went smoothly until I saw this huge cockroach...I just calmly got up and walked away and told a coworker that they had to get rid of it, but they thought that I was kidding and it wasn't until this other lady who's from up north came in and started freaking out that he finally killed it. His excuse for not just stepping on it was that he didn't want to mess up his shoes...

you can see my sternocleidomastoids in this picture...which reminds me of that day that Dr. Saladin told us in Anatomy that Sandra Bullock had a great pair...like he was really talking about the muscles in her neck.

Day 186: Research

We're doing a skit about video games for River of Life this year, so Jennifer and I had to do some research

Yes, we have a super nintendo that still works

Jeremy also helped with this research....and I realized that he has one of the coolest jobs ever, cause playing video games really is kind of a part of his job description

Day 185: Watch out for shrapnel

I had lots of fun hanging out with my brother and meeting some new people...it was also very interesting to learn about all of the things that my brother and our new friend are going to invent, such as: shoe butt pads and butt flap boxers....

Day 184: Lake Sinclair

We went tubing out on Lake Sinclair today

according to Jeremy, Timothy and I had 2 of the most epic tubing experiences ever. He said that timothy was like james bond on a tube cause he stayed on when anyone else would have fallen off and he said that I got the most air that he's ever seen and I still stayed on the tube. Apparently I was like 6+ feet in the air...all I know is that it hurt when I landed...I'm kinda sore

4th day of orientation

we got out early today, so I got to go home for lunch. When I got home Blake was walking around with her hands in her pockets...it was hilarious cause her pockets aren't even that big, but she was determined to shove her hands in there
