Project 365: Day 31

As the youngest of 5 kids, I kinda missed out on a lot. I didn't know about Santa, the Easter Bunny, or the tooth fairy. We stopped going to visit our grandparents and extended relatives over the holidays when I was still little. I never had a curfew. I don't think I was ever grounded either... Not that I'm complaining, but because of timing and life, I never really got close to any of my aunts or uncles... at least not as a child. But with all childhood relationships, you have 2 chances at them...once when you are the child, and once when you are the adult. So I want my nieces and nephews to know who I am. One of the things that I have done with all of them is shown them all the different kinds of kisses...like goofy, silly kisses. Now I may not have been the first to show them some of the kisses, but I am definitely the first to show them ALL of the kisses.

If you are reading this and wondering what I am talking about, then you have been sheltered and this list will change your life.
#1 The Butterfly Kiss: you put your eye up to the other person's cheek, just close enough for your eye lashes to touch them and blink. (My niece Blake thinks you're supposed to get eye to eye...her eyelashes scratched my cornea once...not fun.)
#2 The Eskimo Kiss: quite simple. You rub noses...much like Peter Pan and the Indian Princess do in the Disney movie.
#3 The Movie Star Kiss: My niece Taylor is responsible for this one, apparently in movies they grab each others faces in their hands (a palm to each cheek), pucker up, and tilt their head from side to side. (this one is quite hilarious when you see her do it)
#4 The Puppy Dog Kiss: You go in like you are going to kiss them and then lick their cheek...guaranteed giggles every single time!
#5 The Zoobert: Some people call it a raspberry, but my dad always called it a zoobert, so that's what it is to me. This is where you put your lips against their skin and blow...if you do it right, it should make a fart noise. Also, guarantees giggles!
#6 The Noggin: not an actual kiss...its basically just a headbutt...but its my nephew's favorite...just be prepared, cause they might actually headbutt you and laugh hysterically while you cry in pain...

Anyway with me doing this whole travel nurse thing, I've been kinda clingy with my nieces and nephews because I don't want them to not know me. So today Courtney sends me this picture of Jake giving AndiBeth Eskimo kisses:

I don't think my heart can handle the pure sweetness going on here! And Jakey Boy remembered something I showed him! (granted I'm pretty sure his mom does this with him too...but still!!!)

Project 365: Day 28

So of all of my closest friends from college, a good majority of us are all living in Atlanta right now (4 of us are actually working at the same hospital) and we never see each other...it's quite the tragedy. BUT, tonight we all got together for dinner! It wasn't without its mishaps (I apparently confused some GPS's with my address...oops..) And somehow I didn't get a picture of Hannah...but we had fun and it was wonderful to spend some time together before Amy leaves for Russia and I move ...well everywhere...

Project 365: Day 26

I've written before about my very cute but extremely loud watch. I absolutely love it! yet, in the still of the night when I'm all alone, I can hear it tick. tick. ticking. I almost feel like the narrator in The Tell-Tale Heart by Edgar Allen Poe (little known fact: he's one of my all time favorite authors!!) It's like my life is using this watch as a metaphor for something...who knows what. The most logical time/clock reference in a woman's life is the whole biological clock thing...but I'm fairly certain that mine has been deactivated indefinitely. All I know is that the continual ticking makes me restless. Its like the acknowledgement of the passage of time makes me anxious. I'm steadily moving closer to something that makes me nervous, yet I'm not sure what it is. Maybe its this whole travel nursing thing and the fact that I only have 1 week left of my Atlanta contract and my next job will most likely be in California...or maybe its the fact that I have 1 week left and then I get to go bombard my brother and his wife and love all over this sweet little girl and her brother!

...then again, maybe I'm anxious because time seems to be passing too slowly...and yet too fast all at the same time. I need sleep!

Project 365: Day 25

Today I became an aunt again!!! This little girl is going to be so spoiled! I highly doubt that I will ever have children of my own, but I love my nieces and nephews so much and I try my hardest to show them how important they are in my life. I would honestly do anything to make them happy...which apparently includes me buying everything that I think they might like and clothes they would look cute in...I have a sickness.

Project 365: Day 24

The Macon Mall used to be one o the coolest malls ever! ...like 15 years ago...over the last 5 years it had gotten pretty scary. Well today I went there to check out this outdoor store that had a sale and I was completely addlepated by the Macon Mall. It is like a completely different place! It's actually nice. There are these really cool historic pictures all over the walls.

Also I took Roscoe for a play date at a friend's house and he and Doug (the other dog) were doing flips in the air! I kid you not! Basically my dog is a ninja...it's ok, you can be jealous
